Earlier this year, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming The Frenchie Mummy and her family for a stay here at Chapel House Estate, and we couldn’t have been more delighted to host them.
Set across 35 acres of peaceful meadows, orchards, and gardens just a stone’s throw from Ramsgate, the estate offered the perfect backdrop for a relaxed and luxurious family escape—something we take pride in creating for all our guests, understanding the needs and desires of families.
From the moment they passed through our gates, the family discovered the calm and charm that makes Chapel House so special. With the 700-year-old Chapel House at its heart, the estate also features the beautifully restored Old Malt Granary, a blossoming wild apple orchard, and nine cosy, contemporary Hideaway Lodges, all of which contribute to the tranquil atmosphere.
The family stayed in one of our Hideaway Lodges, a unique retreat tucked away beside the meadow. Equipped with air conditioning, super-fast Wi-Fi, a plush double bed, and a sleek en-suite bathroom, the lodge provided a calming retreat for parents and children alike. Their little one especially enjoyed the local snack basket (a fan favourite!), while the adults unwound on the private wooden deck in the sun.
During their stay, they explored the peaceful grounds, stopping by the pond, the barns, and the gardens. Built in 1290 and lovingly renovated, the chapel remains one of the estate’s most treasured spaces—full of charm, character, and quiet corners for reflection (or a quick swing!).
A Taste of Kent at Number Nine
No visit is complete without dining at our Number Nine Restaurant, where the family enjoyed a delicious seasonal meal beneath the light-filled Glass Courtyard. From crisp aubergine starters to classic fish & chips, everything was locally sourced and full of flavour. The Glass Courtyard made the experience even more special, bringing the outdoors in and offering the perfect setting for unforgettable family moments.
We loved seeing the family explore the wildflower meadows and orchards, with every path revealing something new—from buzzing bees in the blossom to sun-drenched garden benches. Chapel House is a place where elegance and nature go hand-in-hand, and we were thrilled to share that magic with them.
