At Chapel House Estate, we’re passionate about protecting and nurturing the beautiful wildlife that shares our 35 acres. Last week, we were delighted to welcome Nik from Get Wildlife and the Hawk and Owl Trust to the estate as part of their incredible Adopt a Box scheme.
As part of this initiative, they installed two very special new homes for our feathered friends, a tawny owl box and a kestrel box. These carefully designed nesting spaces give birds a safe haven to roost and raise their young, helping to protect vulnerable species while encouraging them to thrive in our countryside setting.
The Adopt a Box scheme, run by the Hawk and Owl Trust, not only supports conservation but also plays a vital role in monitoring populations of these magnificent birds. By providing secure habitats, we can help safeguard the future of tawny owls and kestrels while learning more about their habits and needs.
For us, this is more than just a conservation project; it’s about deepening our connection with nature, supporting biodiversity, and ensuring that the estate remains a sanctuary for wildlife as well as people. From our wildflower meadows and orchard to the installation of owl and kestrel boxes, every step helps create a thriving ecosystem.
We’re so excited to see what the future holds as these boxes become a new home for our local owls and kestrels. Watch this space, we’ll be keeping you updated on any new arrivals!
