Meet the team
At Chapel House Estate, our 35 acres of meadows, orchards, and landscaped gardens are more than just a setting, they’re an experience. Every season, every flourish, every quiet corner feels alive with intention and care. And behind so much of that beauty is one very special person: Juliet, our passionate and talented Gardener.
Today, we’re delighted to introduce her.
From the moment Juliet joined us, her connection with the land was undeniable. She has an instinctive understanding of how to balance wildness with refinement, allowing nature to thrive while shaping spaces that feel peaceful, welcoming and full of life.
Her approach is grounded in kindness: kindness to the soil, to the wildlife that calls the estate home, to the guests who explore the grounds, and to the future of the estate she is helping us protect.
Juliet’s impact is felt everywhere across the estate. She is the unseen hands behind the scenes, nurturing spaces that elevate each wedding, event and stay. Some of her contributions include:
Tending the Orchard & Estate Gardens
From pruning heritage apple trees to cultivating herbs used in number nine’s kitchen, Juliet ensures each area is thriving in every season.
Championing Biodiversity
Juliet is a driving force behind our wildflower meadows, pollinator-friendly planting and natural habitats that support bees, butterflies, birds and wildlife across the estate.
Supporting Our Sustainability Journey
Whether it’s composting, careful plant selection or reducing waste, Juliet plays a key role in our eco-friendly goals and ongoing ESG commitments.
Creating Serene Guest Spaces
Every hidden pathway, planted border, and colourful bloom has been thoughtfully crafted to offer calm and comfort to our couples, diners and overnight guests.
A Gentle Guardian of the Land
She works closely with our environmental partner Nik from Get Wild and the estate team to ensure the land remains protected, nurtured and cared for, now and for generations to come.
In recent months we have recruited Lorraine, who helps Juliet on a part time basis.
Whether you’re walking to your Hideaway Lodge, enjoying a drink in the Glass Courtyard, or wandering through the orchard after lunch at number nine, the sense of calm and natural beauty you feel has Juliet’s fingerprints all over it. She helps create the backdrop for unforgettable moments: weddings, family celebrations, corporate retreats, and simple afternoons spent soaking up the Kentish countryside.
If you spot Juliet tending to the borders, trimming the herb beds or carrying armfuls of fresh cuttings, don’t forget to say hello. She’s always happy to share what’s growing, what’s blooming and what’s coming next on the estate.
We’re incredibly grateful to have her as part of the Chapel House family, and we know you’ll love her just as much as we do.
