The Old Malt Granary, a charming and versatile indoor venue, is a permanent fixture on The Chapel House Estate. This rustic barn, once a bustling farm building, now stands as a testament to adaptability, offering a wet weather or plan B contingency for your event, regardless of the season or weather conditions.
Seating 150 in the rustic barn (120 downstairs and 30 on the mezzanine), previously used to change cereal grain gathered on the Thorne Farm into malt to be used in brewing beer, has been converted to create the perfect indoor ceremony area with seating for 30 guests upstairs and 120 downstairs.
With a mezzanine floor, you can say your vows while your videographer and photographer capture you from above. For weddings of less than 120, a choir can sing from the glass-panelled upper tier.
The Old Malt Granary is not just a beautiful venue but a thoughtful one. With heating, air conditioning, and surround sound, we’ve taken care of every detail to ensure your guests’ comfort, leaving you free to focus on your special day.
After your indoor ceremony, the Old Malt Granary bi-folding doors can be flung open, and drinks and canapes can be served on the Dew Lawn next to the Dew pond adjacent to the Old Malt Granary.
The Old Malt Granary is available for indoor weddings throughout the seasons and gives you a backup plan to ensure your day unfolds without a hitch!
Despite being lucky, no one likes to think about it raining on their big day, so at Chapel House, we have given you the perfect stress-free rain plan. The Old Malt Granary provides the perfect indoor ceremony to help alleviate some pre-wedding wet weather jitters.
